Sneak Ops is a retro-infused stealth game where every day brings a new mission. The goal is to get to the chopper by stealthily moving through an enemy compound without being spotted.
The game utilises intuitive top-down gameplay – initially, you can freely scamper about the tiles, but when deeper into your mission, it’s vital to carefully time runs past cameras – and regularly use your ability to smack guards over the head.
Getting to the chopper is tough, but if you don’t fancy starting from scratch on being captured, you can ‘buy’ restart points with floppy disks that litter the compounds – an odd quirk we suspect a real spy would give up their best attaché case for.
Fun gameplay and a fresh daily challenge keep Sneak Ops feeling fresh.

Other games news: League of Legends patch 9.4 is now officially on the way. The new update arrived on the PBE last night, and while it’s not huge at the moment, there are a few significant changes to a handful of champions, and an elegant new skin line to check out.
When it comes to balance changes, the adjustment to Vi that were promised in League of Legends patch 9.3 have arrived this time out, with an extra change to her ult. There are also tweaks to Sylas, whose Q should now be more reliable, and changes to most of Rek’Sai’s abilities – the Void Burrower will now find it easier to move around underground, and only the champions with the fastest feet will be able to dodge her ultimate.
When it comes to skins, Riot seems to be following up on this year’s wonderful Lunar Revel skins with a new origami-themed skin line. Anivia and Nunu & Willump both get some very impressive Papercraft skins thanks to the new (extremely colourful) cosmetics.
The Monster Hunter movie from the star and creative team of the Resident Evil film franchise now has a release date. The film will land on September 4, 2020, film studio Sony has announced, according to Deadline.
The movie stars Resident Evil’s Mila Jovovich in a lead role, and the film is directed by her husband, Paul W.S. Anderson, who directed the Resident Evil movies. Jovovich plays a monster hunter, Lt. Artemis, who fights together with a mysterious character played by martial arts actor Tony Jaa.
I had very mixed feelings when Apex Legends was announced. On one hand, Titanfall and its sequel are two of my favorite shooters, offering an incredibly fast, almost balletic sense of movement that made otherwise standard skirmishes feel fresh and alive. The idea of developer Respawn taking that to the battle royale genre and throwing in charming Overwatch-style characters was incredibly exciting. But there was one very particular aspect of the game that made me wary: you can only play it in teams. As someone who spends hours in Fortnite solo and hates the idea of voice chat with strangers, this was an instant turn-off.
But thanks to a handful of incredibly clever design decisions, Apex Legends is the rare team-based shooter where voice chat isn’t a necessity. You can be antisocial and still have a lot of fun.
Apex Legends is set in the Titanfall universe, and it has teams of three battling it out across a war-torn sci-fi landscape to be the last group standing. It’s a class-based game where you pick from a group of heroes, each of which fits snugly into an archetype like “support” or “tank.” They also all have special abilities that charge up over the course of a match. And just like in Fortnite and its contemporaries, the battlefield shrinks as the match goes on, forcing you into close contact with your opponents.
